The Art of Explanation: Reflections on my 6 Year Anniversary with Human Design
6 years ago today, I first saw my Human Design chart.
The Sun was in Gate 43 (Breakthrough, Insight )Line 1 (Patience), the exact mirror to my Incarnation Cross: Right Angle Cross of Explanation. Explanation is the main theme of today’s cosmic weather, it was the transit theme the moment I first met Human Design, and it is also the theme of my life/purpose.
As such, I am reflecting on the art of explanation. The ability to explain oneself is a universally important life skill, at least to some degree- but for some of us (for example me), this proficiency is absolutely essential and demands prioritization.
The more individual circuitry you have in your chart, the more necessary explanation becomes. Simply put, individuality is what makes you weird, and the weirder you are the more vulnerable you are to feeling misunderstood, alienated or rejected- and the way to transcend this is through learning how to explain yourself.
As an individual, working to master the art of explanation is key to your ability to make the creative contribution only you can make, feel empowered and empower others. And in order to explain your process and insights to others, you need to first understand yourself and your own unique operating system.
I am forever grateful to Human Design for its role in awakening my talent for explanation, and my capacity for honest self-awareness. I am also grateful for the ways HD has served as a tool for me to empower others to see themselves more clearly and awaken their creative gifts.
I am not focused on proselytizing about HD the way I was when the relationship was new. In the early years, I was just head over heels in love with the system and believed that this was THE ONE, the focus of my life’s work, the central creative outlet worthy of my passion and devotion.
Over the past 6 years, it has become abundantly clear to me that in order for HD to be helpful, it needs to be balanced by, and applied in collaboration with, other practices and ways of knowing.
I am currently in my research and development era . My work is rapidly evolving and expanding. I’m in year 2 of graduate school, pursuing a masters in Expressive Arts Therapy. I’m also working towards professional certification as an enneagram practitioner. I am learning A LOT. This is why I have not been focused on marketing my HD services recently.
That said, I still love working with HD, and I still highly recommend hiring me. To learn more and book a session: https://www.brirubin.com/work-with-me
